Insurances are part and parcel of everyday life. Whether it be that a person is injured, something is damaged or there’s a threat of financial damage. Especially in recent years, because of large claims from natural disasters, the need for security through insurance has become very clear.
The insurance law, whose relevant provisions are found in the Insurance Contract Act (VVG), deals with the rights and obligations of insurers and policyholders.
There often arises the question whether a claim has set in, i.e. the liability of the insurer was triggered. Often insurance companies deny that fact such that interminable disputes are carried out and time-consuming and cost intensive expert opinions must be prepared. On the other hand, experts believe that up to 50% of all reported losses are fraudulent.
Some insurances are compelled, like most social insurances or car insurance or certain professional liability insurances, to offer their policies with deductibles while others such as life insurance, trip cancellation insurance, pet owners liability insurance, property insurance or the increasingly important legal protection insurance, may voluntarily offer their policies partially with or partially without deductibles.
We help policyholders in the filing and settling of claim. We avert the unjustified claim from insurers.
